Gathering of Tweakers (GoT) is proud to announce the provisional schedule for season 2 (2015-2016) of the GoT Endurance Series (GES).
With season 2, the GES continues to build on the foundation established in season 1. The number of races has been increased and a new race length has been introduced.
Season 2 will start on October 17th at Sebring International Raceway. For the first three rounds the teams will stay in the US for the North American tour. After Sebring the GES teams go to Circuit of the Americas. The final race of 2015 will be held at a new track for the GES: Watkins Glen International. Both COTA and Watkins Glen races will be 3 hours.
In 2016 the season continues with the 4 hours of Spa-Francorchamps. After Spa the cars go to Brazil at Interlagos for a 3 hour race. The final two races are held in Europe. The 3 hours of Monza and the 4 hours of Nürburgring are both new to the GES schedule.
We hope the variety in race length in season 2 will add more opportunities for strategic elements.
Cars
Since we do not want to compete with the popular iRacing Blancpain Endurance Series, and want to change up the field of cars, we have decided to switch the single-class GT3 field for a new multi-class grid. More details on the available cars and classes will be published soon.
The GES will once again act as the official support series for the second season of the NEO Endurance Series (NES). As the support series, the GES events will be held the day before the NES events, following the same schedule of tracks. The top 3 teams at the end of the GES championship will earn an automatic invite for the next season of the NES. For more information about the NES go to neo-endurance.com.
Racespot and GES and NES will continue their partnership in season 2. All races will be broadcasted live, from start to finish, by Racespot. The events of NES will also be broadcasted by Racespot TV to establish a firm connection between the two series even for the broadcasters and viewers.
